For railway products, high-strength steel is used almost exclusively. New products are always tested in accordance with FEM analyses and on the test bench. ExTe’s own requirements exceed UIC’s and TSI’s standards. Destructive testing is used to determine tensile and fatigue limits in practice. Only then is operational test traffic performed, followed by the marketing new products.
